World Tunnel Congress ITAWTC 2015

On 27th May we will be presenting “Non-Linear Motion Detection using SAR images in urban tunnelling”, illustrating a new methodology for detecting non-linear motion along the tunnelling paths in civil construction.
The Nepal earthquake deformation with InSAR
Sentinel-1 images have revealed a high level of detail of the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal on 25 April. ALTAMIRA INFORMATION has produced an interferogram that provides a detailed view of the Earth deformation. Two images have been compared, one acquired before the event (on 17 April), the other after (on 29 April). The interferogram shows “fringes” (complete cycles of colour) each of which represents around 3 cm of deformation. The great number of fringes provides an idea of the destructive nature of the event that has lifted up the ground around Kathmandu causing motion of about 1m.
First ALOS-2 interferogram of the eruption of the volcano Piton de la Fournaise
Using the DIAPASON software developed by ALTAMIRA INFORMATION and CNES (French Space Agency), the Observatoire de Physique du Globe de Clermont-Ferrand has obtained the first interferogram with ALOS-2 data showing ground surface displacement related to the most recent eruption of the Piton de la Fournaise in February 2015. Piton de la Fournaise, located on the French island of La Réunion, is one of the world's most active volcanoes.
