CASE STUDY: WIND ENERGY (SPANISH GOVERNMENT)

	Objective of the project The objective of the project was to identify the optimal location of an off-shore wind park in the Ebro Delta region in the Eastern Mediterranean Coast of Spain. The project has been financed by the Ministerium of Industry, Tourism and Commerce of Spain, and has been conducted in collaboration with Gamesa and Barlovento.
Analysis and results The area of interest was the Ebro Delta and part of the Mediterranean Sea (Spain). In total 190 images have been processed and an average wind map with wind force and direction has been created. Wind force is illustrated in colours (low force in blue and high in red) and wind direction is shown with arrows.

To support the decision about wind park localisation,
InSAR technology based on historical data is mapping wind force and direction.
