CASE STUDY: SEISMICALLY ACTIVE AREA (TAIWAN)
![]() |
Objective of the project:
The objective of the project was to measure ground motion of a seismically active area in Taiwan, and to detect with the results faults movement. |
Analysis and results
The project permitted the mapping of fault motions.
Subsidence measurement has further contributed to a better understanding of the complex geology in the zone of interest.
Seismic faults could be mapped, and the geometry of synclines and anticlines could be confirmed (see green arrows).

The InSAR subsidence measurements aided in confirming GPS & geologicial modelling knowledge of the localisation and movement of seismic faults.
