CASE STUDY: LANDSLIDES (GMES TERRAFIRMA - SPAINSLIDE)
![]() |
Objective of the project
The project is carried out in cooperation with the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME). The landslide monitoring project is embedded in several landslide investigation projects with the objective to unify information in order to create a preventive landslide warning system. |
Analysis and results
The project integrates radar subsidence measurement results with national landslide monitoring projects to create a landslide inventory tool.
Analysed radar satellite data (ERS and Envisat) covers the period between 1995 and 2007.
With radar data, slope maps and slope instability maps will be created. Both ascending and descending satellite images have been acquired to guarantee visibility of moutainous area of interest.
